“Chain Reaction” Accident in Ventura Leaves Motorcyclist Dead, Raises Questions about the Rights of Motorcycle Riders on Ventura Roads

MotorcRider

There is no doubt that there are exponentially more motorcycles on the road in Ventura during the summer months. Indeed, some can argue that there is no better place than Ventura to jump on your bike and cruise the roads. However, as fun and as thrilling as motorcycles may be, motorcyclists are at a higher risk for serious injuries from an accident. Unfortunately, one such recent accident occurred in Ventura in April, resulting in the tragic loss of another community member.

According to local news reports, on April 6, at around 3:00 p.m., a multiple vehicle “chain-reaction-type” car accident occurred on Highway 101 in Ventura County. The accident was reported to have occurred near California Street. Reports indicate that California Highway Patrol Officers responded to an accident that seemed to have been started when “two vehicles slowed because of traffic.” The slowing of the vehicles caused a third car to not stop in time, and that car crashed into both other vehicles. A motorcyclist was reported to have hit one of the vehicles that was damaged in the first collision. The motorcyclist was reported to have been thrown from the motorcycle and was taken to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. According to last reports, the victim’s name had not yet been released to the public. No one else was seriously injured in the accident.

Justice for Injured Motorcycle Riders in Ventura

In light of the terrible multiple-car accident that killed the motorcyclist in April, it is important for Ventura residents and motorcycle riders to know about their rights if they are injured in a motorcycle accident. Under California personal injury laws, victims of serious motorcycle accidents in Ventura have the right to file a lawsuit in court to obtain money compensation for their injuries and losses. There is a limited time to file a claim for compensation under California personal injury laws, so it is always best to speak with an experienced Ventura motorcycle accident lawyer about your case as soon as possible after a serious motorcycle accident occurs.
